Dr. Solomon is an Assistant Professor and has a generalist practice with a concentration in family planning. She completed her undergraduate degree at Brown University, and obtained her MD from Emory University School of Medicine. She completed her Residency training in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins University. She worked for the Brown University International Health Institute on vaccine research in Providence, RI and the Philippines, and as a medical anthropologist for the Instancia Nacional de Salud, a social medicine and community health program in Guatemala; she has also worked clinically and studied maternal morbidity in Bangladesh. Her current research interests are in the psychosocial aspects of pregnancy prevention, maternal morbidity and mortality, and in the empowerment of women locally and globally. She joined the faculty of Montefiore and Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Department of OB/Gyn in February 2014, as a member of the Generalist and Family Planning and Global Health divisions.
