Edward M. Gardner, M.D.

Dr. Gardner is the Medical Director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic and the Center for Positive Health at Denver Public Health, part of the public hospital system in Denver, CO (Denver Health).  He is the director of HIV Clinical Research at Denver Public Health and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver. He came to Denver with several years experience in community health and correctional medicine. His main areas of research interest are engagement in HIV care, adherence to antiretroviral therapy, and antiretroviral resistance.  His clinical interests include diagnosis, treatment, and management of HIV infection including the management of resistant HIV infection and the clinical complications of HIV/AIDS. In 2011, Dr. Gardner and colleagues published on the HIV prevention and care continuum.
