Dr. Cecile Lahiri is an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases. She is a current Emory KL2 Research Scholar and a Co-Investigator on the Atlanta Women's Interagency HIV Study (WIHS).
Her research interests include understanding pharmacokinetics and viral dynamics of HIV medications within HIV reservoirs where the virus hides. These reservoir compartments of the body include the central nervous system, gastrointestinal-associated lymphoid tissue, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Dr. Lahiri's research also includes exploring novel strategies to identify men and women at highest risk of developing anal cancer. Her emphasis is on translational HIV-1 research in the area of anti-retroviral pharmacology and novel techniques in pharmacokinetic-viral dynamic modeling.
