Yaretson Carmenate

Yaretson Carmenate has been involved in clinical research since 2015, when he began his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University. He has worked in various research areas, including epilepsy, biometric sensors, neuronal regeneration, and most recently HPV and anal dysplasia with the ANCHOR study.

Outside of research, Yaretson has dedicated his time to the MERIT Health Leadership Academy—an organization focused on transforming Baltimore City high school students into health care leaders by preparing them for success in college and providing them with a close-knit community of peers and mentors.

Yaretson’s goal is to bring to light many of the systemic and cultural barriers to medical access, literacy, and higher education that are prevalent in many underrepresented communities through his work in research and humanitarianism.
