Luis Barroso, M.D.

Dr. Barroso is an Associate Professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He is focusing his academic interests in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, in particular co-infection with HIV and HPV. He have recently started anal dysplasia screening with anal paps and high-resolution anoscopy thought the Infectious Diseases Subspecialty Clinic. He hopes to broaden this screening program while exploring patient factors associated with acceptance or denial of recommended screening, and later exploring methods to promote screening acceptance. He also complements this area with a focus on housestaff and medical student education.
