Olivia received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Swarthmore College in 2014. For the next couple of years, they worked as a veterinary technician in small animal medicine. After developing an interest in human health research, Olivia decided to leave the field of veterinary medicine in 2016.
In early 2017, they accepted a position as the Clinical Research Coordinator for Dr. Michael Hagensee at LSUHSC New Orleans. Along with Dr. Hagensee, they are involved in multiple HIV and HPV research trials that operate through University Medical Center. Olivia wants every study visit to be comfortable and works to put a smile on everyone’s face.
When Olivia is not working, they can be found cuddling with their two chihuahua mixes or cooking delicious food with their partner. In the future, they plan to pursue a Master of Public Health in Social Inequities with a focus on LGBTQIA+ Healthcare Outcomes.
