Tiina Ilmet is the Lab Manager for the Weill Cornell Medical College in the Cornell Clinical Trials Unit for the Department of Medicine’s Infectious Diseases Division. She is also the unit’s phlebotomist. She is responsible for drawing blood processing and shipping out and maintaining a database for all the samples that pass through her lab. Before joining the WCMC team, she spent over 25 years at the NYU IMPAACT research lab and was excited to participate in the 076 trials which showed the positive results of treating HIV pregnant women with AZT reduced the rate of transmission from mother to child.
