Dr. Rebecca Levine, a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, joined the Department of Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2011 as an Assistant Professor. She has fellowship training in all aspects of colorectal and anorectal disorders, both benign and malignant. After training at Mount Sinai, Dr. Levine pursued a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she was trained in advanced laparoscopy, complex anorectal diagnostics and procedures, and operative pelvic surgery for both benign and malignant conditions.

Over the past four years she has collaborated with faculty from the department of obstetrics and gynecology to gain additional expertise in high resolution anoscopy techniques for the diagnosis and management of occult anorectal dysplasia. Her research interests currently focus on the pathogenesis, therapy, and prevention of HPV-related diseases of the anal canal with a special emphasis on high-risk patient populations.
