Living with HIV has gotten a lot easier. With longer lifespans, however, we face a new set of challenges.
University Medical Center of New Orleans houses the HIV Outpatient Program (HOP), which was founded at Charity Hospital in 1987. Over the years, HOP has provided care and services to thousands of individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Available services include dental care, social services, lab services, health education, women’s health services, pain management, behavioral health, and more.
Dr. Hagensee runs HOP’s Anal Cancer Research and Prevention Clinic, which seeks to identify, treat, and understand precancerous conditions of the anus.
